[Map] Rebel Cell Hideout

Inspired by the new Star Wars movie I wanted to draw some kind of a hidden rebel base. Not a big one, more like a hideout for a small rebel cell that operates from an abandoned outpost, temple or something like that.

I made the main entrance blocked by debris and rocks so it would seem that the building is really abandoned and inaccessible. But a little to the side of the main entrance there is a narrow passage that leads inside the hideout.

I thought the hidden entrance would be of course guarded at all times and probably booby-trapped too in case of ininvited guests. The base itself is quite simple. There are facilities for the rebel fighters, a small command center, a separate chamber for the rebel leader and and a small jail for possible prisoners.

I hope you find this useful!

[Map] Evacuated Rebel Base

Evacuated Rebel Base

Here’s a map of an evacuated rebel base with some supplies still left for loot.  I did this awhile back for Steve Barr, one of my $5 tier patrons as an Instant Surprise Reward and it’s shared with a permission.

I hope you like it 🙂

Right after I made the Walker Wreck map, I thought that I need to make another map to go with it. I decided to continue riffing off of Star Wars The Force Awakens and ended up drawing a map of a small trading post for trading junk and other scavenged valuables for food, water, clothes and equipment. Sometimes maybe even for a ride out of the wasteland.

[Map] Walker Wreck

The idea for this map I got from the latest Star Wars movie. In the movie Rey, a wasteland scavenger has her home in a wrecked AT-AT walker. I though that it would be a really cool idea to have some sort of hideout built inside a wrecked walker. I expanded on the idea a bit and designed the map so that the walker has fallen against a rock formation and as the walker bashed against the rocks an entrance was revealed into caves inside the big rock.

[Map] The Lava Station “Furnace-5”

I’ve wanted to draw a map with flowing lava and narrow walkways for intense fight scenes. As we were watching Star Wars episode III, Revenge of the Sith, with my wife and kids, I decided to test the new Neopiko ink pens and Letraset bleedfree marker paper.

The movie was perfect inspiration for a map with some hot lava and perilous walkways and from the start I had a pretty good picture in my head what I was going to draw. While I was drawing the map, I pretty quickly noticed the difference between ordinary and premium marker pens and paper. Normally I would not have bought these materials, but because of the second completed Patreon goal (thanks to my awesome patrons!), I gave myself the liberty to go and buy them. The marker pens are really precise and the Promarker pens I use for shading worked really well with the paper.

So, may I present you: Furnace-5, the Lava Station

[Map] Small Cliffside Outpost

rebel-hideout-promo

The idea for this map came from a Star Wars campaign that I’m playing with my boys. Two Clone Wars era bounty hunters were hired to extract a VIP from the holding cells on the top floor. I drew a small concept image of the base before I started to work on the map itself.

This base can be a rebel or smuggler hide-out, or a small outpost. Perhaps even a listening post or a base of operations for a bounty hunter or pirate crew.

I usually draw my maps black and white using only grey tones for  shading, but with this map I experimented with color markers.
