[Map] Space Wreck

I have a thing with wrecked spaceships ūüôā I like to design these maps and add a few twists. Lately I haven’t been able to do that many of these, but I have some plans to make parts of ships and space stations that are in varying conditions.

This is just a regular spaceship with a horizontal layout which in itself hints to some sort of artificial gravity and inertial dampening technology. So, this map is probably more suitable for space opera settings like Star Wars or Traveller.

I added the atmospheric indication colors there as an extra feature. The drone bay and the engineering sections are filled with toxic fumes that can be recycled away if the air filtration system (accessible through the service hatch in the engineering) is fixed.

Also, I thought it might be an interesting challenge to find someone still hibernating in a cryostatis pod, but as the pods are in vacuum, it might pose some difficulties getting the person out of the pod alive.

I hope you like this and find use for it.

[Map] Rebel Cell Hideout

Inspired by the new Star Wars movie I wanted to draw some kind of a hidden rebel base. Not a big one, more like a hideout for a small rebel cell that operates from an abandoned outpost, temple or something like that.

I made the main entrance blocked by debris and rocks so it would seem that the building is really abandoned and inaccessible. But a little to the side of the main entrance there is a narrow passage that leads inside the hideout.

I thought the hidden entrance would be of course guarded at all times and probably booby-trapped too in case of ininvited guests. The base itself is quite simple. There are facilities for the rebel fighters, a small command center, a separate chamber for the rebel leader and and a small jail for possible prisoners.

I hope you find this useful!

[Map] The Guardian Monastery

I saw Rogue One when it came to the movies. So far I’ve seen it twice, and I really liked the gritty feel in the movie. I especially liked how the planet of Jeddah looked. That inspired me to draw a forsaken or hidden monastery somewhere deep in the wilderness.

Maybe this monastery has already been raided by the forces of the tyrannical empire and they have left some droids to guard the site in case someone still wanders there. Or perhaps there are still some brave space knights hiding in the monastery (perhaps they have even started to lose their sanity for some reason?) and guarding the last pieces of the valued crystals and old archives that were not destroyed in the Great Purge.

[Map] The Archive Tower

So, I went to see Rogue One – A Star Wars Story in the movies on the premiere day and I thought the movie was awesome. But, let’s not go to that any more than that right now ūüėÄ

Anyway, the movies had again great and inspiring locations and this map is based on a location in the movie. The scale is different and the layout does not match all the way, but as said: it is inspired by a location in Rogue One.

This is an archive tower. A combination of a databank and a communications tower. It is used for archiving important information and to send it ¬†to the ¬†nearby star systems through it’s powerful communications dish on top of it.

I did not intentionally draw any environment around the map since I thought that it might be used even as a space station if needed.

A quick summary of different levels:

  • Level 0 – Crew quarters, storages, messhall and operations control.
  • Level 1 – Main archive vaults I, II and III
  • Level 2 – Mainframe units
  • Level 3 – Communications center and encryption computers
  • Level 4 – Engineering and communications dish engines
  • Level 5 – Communications dish manual alignment controls and backup communications terminal.

I hope you like the map and find it useful.

[Map] Crater Hideout

This small facility is located in a now passive volcano that’s around 1 km in diameter. The crater’s¬†walls hide this small hideout with a landing pad.

The hideout has enough room for bodyguards and servants in addition to the luxurious banquet hall at the center of the complex and a separate section with a suite, armory and a secret food supply for prolonged stays.

I designed the entryway so, that possible attackers would not be able to attack straight into the central hall or the suite, but there but be multiple corners and turns for the defenders to take cover.

Also, the dotted lines mark emergency bulkheads that can be lowered when needed.

[Map] Beacon Station

The groundwork for this map was done as a #mapvember map, but I wanted to finalize it by adding some details and proper annotations.

The initial theme was a beacon station that would work as a hyperspace beacon and space traffic control station, but I think this could also work as a listening station, communications link station, scientific observation station or even the pressurized interior of a space ship (with out the engines part).

I hope you find use for this or get inspired by it.

[Map] Processing Plant

This map started as one of my #mapvember maps, but ended up being a bit too arduous. So, I left it aside for awhile and later finished all that piping around the map (which too some time to draw btw ūüėÄ ). I think this map works great as a section of a factory or even an atmospheric processor.

I hope you enjoy it.

[Map] Imperial Detention Block C2-38

This map was made according to the wishes of one of my long time patrons as an on-going $5 reward. I was asked to do a detention block with some interrogation rooms and to me this sounded like a very useful idea. I decided to design this cell block as a modular unit that could be easily slapped together with some other map or used in many different settings (regardless of its starwarsy name).

Also included: the mandatory trash compactor chute.

[Map] The Dune Bandit Lords Palace

57-dune_bandit_lords_palace-web

The Dune Bandits rule the great Plains of Rust. They have taken over an abandoned monastery deep in the wasteland. The bandits call it the Palace and it is also the den of their lord.  An evil and savage tyrant of the wastelands who will feed all who oppose him to his vile beasts.

[Map] The Smuggler Base 404

56_sugglerbase404-web

This map started out as a quick doodle on coffee break, but it ended up as a “real” map. My intention was to release this as just a quick doodle, but I got an idea about trying to use textures with the hand-drawn map.

This was my¬†first experimental hybrid map with hand-drawn lines and shades and photobashed and overpainted colors and textures. ¬†I hope you like it, because you might see more of this in the future ūüėČ
