#mapvember2018 Prompt List

The prompt list for #mapvember2018 is here!

This year all of the topics on the prompt list are song titles! Each day is given a song title that you can interpret however you like. You can take inspiration from the title alone, from the lyrics, or the atmosphere of the song. You can find a Spotify playlist with all the songs here, but this is just a suggested list. Also, you can find a printer-friendly list here.

And please note, that while this list is the “official” prompt list, it’s totally optional. Its use is not required in any way.

So, get ready to draw some maps and post them online with hashtags #mapvember2018 and/or #mapvember!

[Map] The Tomb of Nihilar

The Tomb of Nihilar… a pyramid hidden in the jungle hides a horrible secret deep underground. There is an abandoned camp near the tomb entrance. The last entry of a diary found at the campsite says something about a secret door in the sacrificial chamber and how others must be stopped from getting the treasure.

This map is my first fully digital map published on Patreon. What do you think of it?

World Map of Tora

I found a thing! I was going through boxes filled with my old drawings and RPG stuff and I came across these maps. These are scans of a fantasy world map I did sometime around 1999 or 2000. I even made a weathered looking handout version of the map, and one showing the racial demographics of each area (humans are blue, elves green and goblinoids red, etc.)

I started working on this world just before the release of the D&D’s 3rd edition and I remember working on a conversion when I got the books, but it quickly became one of my older RPG projects that got never finished.

I don’t know if you have much use for these, but just wanted to share this nostalgic moment 😀

Btw, the names on the maps are either made up or in Finnish. A quick dictionary for those who are interested:

  • Suurmetsät = The Great Forest
  • Ashain autiomaa = Desert of Ashai
  • Dai-Kamen temppeli = Temple of Dai-Kame
  • Usvavuoret = Mist Mountains
  • Dracian tulijärvi = Firelake of Dracia
  • Myrskymeri = Stormy Sea
  • Cruzien linnoitus = Fort Cruzie

Sci-fi Armory – part 1 – Weapons now on Patreon

We have released our first 5th Edition compatible installment for the Hyperstorm space opera setting. The supplement uses the Hyperstorm setting as a base, but it is fully compatible with the other 5th Edition compatible RPGs. Further supplements will include more about the setting itself, but you can also check out Hyperstorm’s website, for more information.

Science Fiction Armory – Part 1: Weapons

This 15 page supplement includes the rules for sci-fi (and modern) firearms and high-tech melee weapons. The rules follow the design principles and spirit of 5th Edition rules, but includes completely revised rules for burst fire and a bunch of new weapon properties, for example.

Pulse pistol by Hans Zenjuga

In addition to the new rules, there a bunch of new weapons from needlers to force blades and necroblasters.

The stats are compatible with the world’s most popular fantasy role-playing game, but also with some of the most popular 5E compatible science-fiction RPGs.

[Map] A Black Raven Down (with a Sensor HUD)

A Corvus-Class HX-50 Light Freighter has crashlanded. Initial sensor readings have some good and bad news. Lifesigns are detected, but the reactor core is going critical any minute now. Your crew needs to hurry to get the operation done before any survivors and the ship’s valuable data is vaporized.

The commercial & Patreon version of this map comes with a bunch of different versions. Besides the versions with different annotations and hud options, there is also a night vision version of the map.

For high-resolution virtual tabletop ready versions of this and other of my RPG maps, please check out my Patreon page and storefronts in DrivethruRPG and RPGnow.
